A. It depends on engine size. A 50cc will do 30-35mph, a 150cc will do 55-60mph, and a 250cc will do 70-75mph.

A. Yes. Anything over 50cc you need a motorcycle endorsement.

A. One way is to take a safety class. You can do this through the MSF Motorcycle Safety Foundation.
Q. Do I need insurance?
A. Yes. Anything you drive on the streets of New Mexico needs insurance.
Q. Do I have to register my scooter?
A. Yes. Anything 50cc and above you do.
Q. What makes a scooter highway legal?
A. A scooter has to be 250cc or higher to be able to keep up with traffic.
Q. What the difference between a motorcycle and a scooter?
A. On a scooter the engine is in the back and it has a floorboard. On a motorcycle the engine is in the middle.
Q. How many miles will I get per gallon?
A. On smaller bikes you can get up to 100mpg, and bigger bikes 75-85mpg.
Q. Can I take a passenger?
A. Yes. Keep in mind the more weight you put on your bike the more it will affect the performance of the bike.
Q. How old do I have to be to drive a scooter?
A. You can be as young as 13 to drive a scooter, but you have to take a safety class at this age.

A. Scooters, like cars, need regular maintenance. Like a car, you can do it yourself or just bring it by the shop and let us take care of it for you.
